The estate in Ilok was given to the family of prince Odescalchi as a present from the Pope Inocent XI Odescalchi in the 17th century. The family restored the old castle from the 15th century, modernized the wine-growing and built a wine cellar beneath the castle itself – today known as THE OLD CELLAR.
The Old Cellar is a unique wine plant meant for traditional production, nurture and keeping of wines in the wood, maturing of the older wines, nurture of the predicate wines and keeping of the vintage wines.
The temperature in the cellar is 14-16° C both in the summer and the winter, and the main part of the cellar is situated 12 metres under ground with a constant temperature of 10-12 ° C. The airiness and the relative air humidity were achieved by the building and locating of the cellar.
Due to all its characteristics, the Old Cellar is highly regarded by wine experts and tourists from Croatia and from all over the world, and it is viewed by over 20.000 visitors every year.
11.000 wine bouteilles were delivered from this cellar on the occassion of the Coronation of Queen Elisabeth II.

The firm Iločki podrumi received the prestigious prize for the best packaging at the prize-giving ceremony of CROPAK 2007, that took place on the 18th of May, at the Congress Hall of the Jezero Hotel at Plitvička jezera. The prize was given in the category of "the best packaging of a Croatian product/ series" for the whole assortement of Iločki podrumi – wine stickers and packaging.
